Veterinary Surgery associate editors

ACVS congratulates and welcomes Drs. Adam Biedrzycki, Nicole Buote, and Raphael Labens to the team of Veterinary Surgery associate editors. Their terms begin November 1, 2023. Drs. Ben Ahern, Stanley Kim, and Janet McClaran are completing their term as associate editors this year. Sincere thanks to these dedicated Diplomates for six years of continued service.

2023 ACVS Diplomates’ Annual Business Meeting

The 2023 ACVS Diplomates’ Annual Business Meeting will be held October 12, 11:45 am–12:45 pm, at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville. Diplomates will receive an email by September 28 with additional information and instructions on accessing the business meeting reports.

Survey findings suggest Diplomates support DEI efforts

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee fielded a Diplomate survey in August 2021 to measure the demographic makeup of the College. Findings were recently published online in JAVMA and suggest that many respondents consider DEI to be an important initiative to promote in the College.

Maintenance of Certification (MOC) deadline reminder

Diplomates who achieved ACVS certification in 2018 must submit their MOC record in CERT to ACVS by November 1, 2023, 11:59 pm (ET). Diplomates must document a total of 100 activity points. A minimum of 70 activity points must be in the Diplomate’s respective specialty of certification (e.g., small animal surgery or large animal surgery). […]
