ACVS Educational Affiliate Program
The American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) is pleased to announce the 2027 ACVS Educational Affiliate Program. This initiative is designed to significantly expand and enhance educational opportunities for our esteemed Diplomates and surgery residents in 2027
Developed in direct response to identified educational needs within the veterinary surgical community, this program creates a dynamic bridge between ACVS and organizations dedicated to high-quality continuing education. Through a collaborative annual process, the ACVS Continuing Education Committee (CEC) actively identifies critical topics and knowledge gaps based on comprehensive surveys, resident feedback, and Maintenance of Certification requirements for organizations to address through their educational offerings. This ensures that the educational offerings promoted through the program are precisely what ACVS Diplomates and surgery residents need most.
2027 Educational Affiliate Program
Submissions are open for the 2027 Educational Affiliate Program. The deadline for submissions is July 23, 2026.
Submissions will be evaluated and scored by the CEC on the following attributes: continuing education credits (must be RACE approved), description, learning objectives, faculty, introductory/advanced content, format, technical requirements to participate, and the benefit to ACVS Diplomates and/or surgery residents. Organizations will be notified of their selection status by September 17, 2026.
Available topics for 2027 education
ACVS invites submissions from those planning laboratory, in-person, or on-demand educational events in 2027 that align with these topics.
- Arthroscopy (Large Animal Diplomates)
- Upper Airway (Large Animal Diplomates and Residents)
- Elbow Dysplasia (Small Animal Diplomates and Residents)
- Surgical Oncology (Small Animal Diplomates and Residents)
The topics and audience listed above are specific to the 2027 program. Topics and audiences are subject to change for the 2028 program based on Diplomate and resident feedback.
Benefits and terms
Selected 2027 Educational Affiliates will benefit from ACVS’s promotional support, including:
- a dedicated webpage listing,
- inclusion in the Diplomate and resident monthly newsletter Cut to the Point quarterly,
- one social media spotlight per offering on ACVS’s social media, and
- quarterly program-exclusive emails to our Diplomates and surgery residents.
By submitting to the ACVS Educational Affiliate program, organizations agree to the following terms:
- Pay a $300 fee per selected submission (supports administrative and promotional costs, ensuring program sustainability). The fee is waived for ACVS Premier Sponsors.
- Assist with promoting the educational offering. While ACVS will actively promote selected educational offerings, acceptance does not guarantee a specific number of registrations.
