Honored Mentor
Jacques Dupuis
DVM, DACVS
Jacques was a dedicated and patient teacher, ever counting his time. He showed us that hard work, continuous training, and the search for excellence were the ways to optimize surgical techniques, outcomes, and patient care.
- Jerome Auger, DVM, DES, MSc, DACVS
Jacques taught me never to be satisfied with good. He was never happy with the outcome of his surgery, always looking for ways to make it better, to push himself to be better, and to make his patients feel better. We loved operating together, arguing over who would be the assistant surgeon. Then, over pizza and wine, we would relax and laugh. Happy retirement, my friend.
- Benoit Charette, DVM, MSC, DES, DACVS
Jacques was my mentor and role model. Jacques always led by example and never cut corners. He taught me to be accountable for my work, to always look for excellence and never be complacent on our work. It is a well-deserved honor for somebody who gave so much to develop specialist surgery in the province of Quebec.
- Pierre Clerfond, DMV, DACVS (Small Animal)
Dr. Jacques Dupris shaped not only the surgeon I became, but also the veterinarian and person I strive to be every day. Beyond teaching surgical excellence, he instilled empathy, professionalism, humility, and an unwavering commitment to patient care. During four formative years of training, he led by example and showed me how technical expertise and genuine compassion can go hand in hand. His influence continues to guide my practice and interactions with clients, patients, and colleagues.
- Matthieu Gatineau, DVM, MSc, DACVS (Small Animal)
Jacques taught us that rigorous reasoning is the foundation of great surgery. He approached every single case with discipline, intellectual honesty, and a relentless commitment to evaluating every angle before making a decision. By never cutting corners and always advocating for the best possible outcome for his patients, he set an example that will continue to inspire generations of surgeons.
- Louis M. Huneault, DMV, MSc, DACVS (Small Animal)
I had the chance to have Jacques Dupuis as a mentor during my residency. He is a model of patience and thoroughness. He truly is a great man with a passion for animal care, and he never gave up to ensure the best outcome for his patients.
- Sophie Lalonde, DMV, DACVS (Small Animal)
Jacques Dupuis was my first mentor, inspiration, and a model of rigor. Passionate about orthopedics and teaching, he trained several generations of veterinarians and numerous board-certified veterinary surgeons. He is, without a question, a pillar of veterinary surgery in Quebec. His empathy for his clients and his love for the profession made him a surgeon who was respected and admired by all. Congratulations on such a remarkable and distinguished career!
- Élaine Madore, DVM, DES, DACVS (Small Animal)
Quel mentor!
