ACVS leadership received a response from the American Board of Veterinary Specialties (ABVS) to the letter of objection from ACVS Diplomates about the planned American College of Veterinary Practitioners orthopedic surgery fellowship.
ABVS supports recognition of veterinary fellowships and has convened a subcommittee to draft a proposal to the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). The tentative plan is for ABVS to review the proposal in October and for the AVMA Board of Directors to review it in November.
