Veterinary Surgery migrates to Research Exchange

Veterinary Surgery is scheduled to migrate to Wiley’s new platform, Research Exchange, in October. Research Exchange is an integrated submission, screening, and peer review platform that aims to improve the publishing process. The platform consists of several modules, including the submission, screening, and review modules.

The submission module makes the manuscript upload process easier for authors and automatically extracts key information. Authors then confirm the accuracy of the extracted information on the screen prior to submitting. There is no need to insert or copy and paste what is already in the manuscripts. Authors will simply upload them, confirm the details, and click submit.

The screening and review modules unlock advanced screening tools and support the process from the submission of a manuscript through to final decision. Screening checks ensure that the manuscript meets the journal’s standards for scope, quality, and integrity. Quality checks, which involve validating the peer review process and requesting any missing information, prepare the manuscript for production.

In advance of the planned migration, the following resources are now available to help familiarize ACVS Diplomates and surgery residents with Research Exchange and to facilitate a smooth transition for authors and reviewers.
