Honored Mentor
Howard B. Seim III
DVM, DACVS
I was Dr. Seim’s resident from 2008–2011, and he brought me on to his CE labs/teaching. He was absolutely pivotal in my career and is a wonderful friend.
- Jessica Barrera, DVM, DACVS (Small Animal)
Dr. Seim was my residency mentor. This was a challenging time in my life, but Dr. Seim was always there to support and help me to keep a healthy perspective on life. He continued to mentor and promote me in a professional manner throughout the early years of my professional development. Namely, he invited me to co-instruct laboratories and lecture at conferences which was appreciated greatly. Over the past 15 years, he has been a good friend.
- J. Brad Case, DVM, MS, DACVS (Small Animal)
Dr. Seim has been a one-of-a-kind mentor and friend throughout my career. He is not only an exceptional teacher, but also someone who helps others find joy and purpose in everything they do. As much as he has taught me about surgery, he has taught me even more about life. I am deeply grateful for his friendship and cannot imagine anyone more deserving of this honor.
- Jeremiah T. Easley, DVM, DACVS (Large Animal)
Howard B. Seim III was a mentor to me early in my training and career. He was instrumental in my development as a surgical educator. This continues with young Diplomates that he brings into the continuing education realm. He also sets a fabulous example for all about enjoying life to the fullest!
- Catriona MacPhail, DVM, DACVS
Dr. Seim has been a remarkable mentor and friend – even teaching a large animal surgeon how to do neurosurgery. He is a constant joy to be around and has limitless enthusiasm for teaching. I can think of no one more suited for this honor!
