Accomplishments
Through the generous support of donors, the ACVS Foundation is funding the future of veterinary surgery. The ACVS Foundation:
- Has awarded over $1.9 million in surgery resident and Diplomate research grants
- Presented each new 2025 Diplomate with an ACVS Digital Learning Access Pass that includes five webinars for their designated species and two non-surgical webinars
- Funded six travel grants for residents to attend the 2025 ACVS Surgery Summit in Seattle, WA
- Sponsors some of the latest continuing education seminars and webinars presented by experts in surgery, finance, business, estate planning, and mental health
- Offers a registration discount to new board-certified veterinary surgeons to attend the ACVS Surgery Summit
- Administers the Honor a Mentor Program, giving Diplomates and residents the opportunity to thank the ACVS Diplomate who has paved the way for their success
- Bestows the prestigious Legends Award to recognize board-certified veterinary surgeons who have developed a surgical or diagnostic procedure of significant value
- Bestows the ACVS Foundation Lynn Wheaton Award to recognize board-certified veterinary surgeons who demonstrate intentional and altruistic social responsibility through their work with a community, association, or other nonprofit organization
- Annually awards the Outstanding Surgery Residents and the Student Surgical Proficiency Awards
- Participates in the ACVS/ECVS Resident Speaker Exchange Program where two ACVS resident winners are invited to present their work at the next ECVS meeting. Travel and accomodations are funded by the Foundation.
- Co-publishes the Advances in Veterinary Surgery book series with Wiley-Blackwell
