San Diego, CA, USA

The Principles in Small Animal Fracture Management course is designed to provide participants with a basic, fundamental knowledge of bone healing and the favorable impact that internal fixation of fractures can have on it. Lectures and hands-on laboratory sessions will focus on and reinforce the scientific principles of fracture repair as well as techniques critical to successful surgical outcome (soft tissue handling, bone grafting). Problems of non-unions, infections, and technical errors are also covered and discussed. Case-based small group discussions/firesides will supplement the lectures and  focus further on the importance of preoperative planning as a critical part of the clinical decision-making process in small animal surgery.
