In 2021, ACVS will offer both the Phase I and Phase II examinations at Pearson VUE test centers.
Phase I will be held April 12 and Phase II will be held February 22.
Several years ago, the ACVS Board of Regents committed to transitioning from the traditional certification examination taken after completion of a residency and acceptance of credentials to a two-phase examination that could be taken at remote testing centers. The Phase I examination has been administered at Pearson VUE test centers for four years.
The first Phase II examination to be administered at Pearson VUE professional test centers will be February 22, 2021. Technology changes over the past several years have allowed ACVS to structure the examination very similar to the current format, which includes practical and case-based sections. Additional details on how the examination will be structured and administered at Pearson VUE will be available in fall 2020, well in advance of the examination. Holding the Phase II examination at test centers will provide a significant cost and time savings to our candidates and complete this ACVS strategic priority.
NOTE: The 2020 Phase II examination will still be in-person in San Diego.
If you have any questions or concerns about the administration of the Phase II examination, please email Eric Parente, director of certification, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
