Small Animal Surgery Locum Tenens The Department of Companion Animals at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC), University of Prince Edward Island (Canada) is presently seeking applications for locums in small animal surgery. Qualified individuals must possess a DVM, or equivalent, and should have completed an ACVS or ECVS approved residency program. Successful applicants will be expected to provide surgical services and clinical teaching to fourth year veterinary students and house officers. After-hours duty is required.
Locums are available for as few as two weeks. Longer periods of time are also available and would be preferable. Remuneration is negotiable. Airfare, rental car and accommodations are provided. Work authorization (if necessary) and licensure by the PEI Veterinary Medical Association is also supplied.
The AVC is the regional veterinary college for Atlantic Canada and is situated on the country’s beautiful east coast. Individuals interested in a great work atmosphere, an opportunity to meet and mix with other specialists, and experiencing practice in an academic environment are invited to consider this opportunity. A full-time faculty position in surgery is also available and a locum may be the chance to learn more about the AVC and Prince Edward Island.
