Pieper Memorial Veterinary Center in Middletown, CT is looking for a locum surgeon to work with our surgical team with dates available from November through January 2018. Pieper Memorial Veterinary Center is a state-of-the-art emergency and referral hospital located in Middletown, CT, the heart of the Connecticut River Valley. Offering close proximity to both Hartford and New Haven, as well as out-of-state destinations such as New York and Boston, Middletown is a thriving college town, featuring a lively downtown area, as well as access to the famed pastoral beauty and coast of New England. We believe in offering our clients and patients superlative service and care, while providing our clinicians with support in a collaborative atmos-phere.
Currently on staff are clinicians board certified in radiology, internal medicine, neurology, surgery, oncology, and dentistry. The surgical department has both rotating and specialty interns. With imaging capabilities including Ultrasound, 64-slice CT, and high-field MRI, an in-house Antech laboratory, as well as minimally invasive surgical equipment, we are committed to providing our clinicians with the tools that they need to diagnose and treat their patients at the highest possible level.
The locum surgeon will join a team including one board certified surgeon, five surgery technicians, three scrub nurses and two surgical interns. Ideally the locum will take over responsibility of a Monday through Thursday schedule with two receiving and two surgery days. We are flexible and will consider part-time or day emergency only positions. This position does not require after hours on-call duty but it is available if interested. The position covers travel and licensing expenses.
