When I think back on my career, I am most proud of the people I have had the opportunity to train. Who they are and where they are is impressive. They all have good powers of observation, the ability to solve clinical case problems, are effective communicators and are talented surgeons. I like to believe that I helped them develop these skills.

Bob was instrumental in not only my surgical training, but also MRI, client communication, scholarly work, and teaching me how to critically think through a situation.  He had a way of forcing you to learn and retain information so that you could recall it when you needed to apply it to a clinical situation.  He excelled at pushing his trainees into the forefront of research and publication, and there to support them when needed.
