Teaching is my passion and training residents is my favorite type of teaching. I love to see young surgeons grow in their knowledge, skills, judgment and confidence. I have had the privilege of participating in the training of a stellar group of dedicated surgeons. My residents have pushed me to continually become a better surgeon and teacher. I am deeply honored and humbled to be recognized as an important mentor to them.

Dr. Salisbury has served as a role model of the highest caliber throughout my veterinary career. She works tirelessly to train students, interns and residents in the science and art of surgery. Her knowledge and skill are remarkable. Her commitment, compassion and empathy for those around her are legendary. Kathy is one of a kind. She has improved the lives of innumerable people and pets, directly and indirectly through those individuals she has trained. Countless former residents, including this one, stand at the surgery table and think, ‘What would Salisbury do’?
