Dr. Pearson is the most patient and kind person with whom I have had the opportunity to work. He was unfailingly encouraging and generous with his time. The fact that he returned to the clinic floor following his tenure as Dean at Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine speaks to his love of surgery. My favorite story about Dr. Pearson: As he was coaching me through my first extracapsular suture procedure, I was struggling to get the suture around the fabella. When I finally said, ‘Got it,’ he did not jump or yell, but simply said, "Dr. Peck...that would be my thumb’.
