Timothy M. Lenehan

After graduating from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Lenehan served 2 years in the Army Veterinary Corps before working in a high-quality small animal practice in San Diego. He developed a strong interest in surgery and was accepted into Penn Vet's residency program. He owes all his success to his mentors at Penn Vet who shepherded him through his training and provided him with the research avenues necessary to attain his goals. His annual donations to the college’s research foundation provide grant opportunities to help other residents attain successes similar to the ones that he experienced.

Timothy M. Lenehan

My surgical successes in life are solely attributable to the mentors that I was fortunate enough to have trained with: Dave Nunamaker, Chuck Newton, Gail Smith, Colin Harvey, and Dudley Johnston. Without their teaching, I would have found little success. The young surgeons, which I have been privileged to train, have unknowingly incorporated my mentors' talents into their methodologies. Mentoring is a way to pass the torch, and with it, a generation of knowledge not always found in books.

Timothy M. Lenehan, DVM, DACVS

Tim’s commitment and integrity to the process of training a surgeon has brought me to a place of confidence and satisfaction with my career that I could not have otherwise achieved without his efforts. I have great admiration and respect for who he is and what he has done for me and others to advance the art of veterinary surgery.

John J. Haburjak, DVM, DACVS
