These young people deserve the credit. I am nobody from a small far east country; they raised me and are my teachers. I just have been fortunate to be trained by wonderful mentors: Drs. Markel, Ken Johnson, Manley, Linn, Muir, Bjorling, McAnulty, Hardie, McGuirk, Flo, DeCamp, Probst, Dejardin, Stanley, Hauptman, Warzee, Harvey, Flanders, Stover, Amy Kapatkin and more. I am forever grateful, Tass Dueland and Eb Rosin. Thank you.

Dr. Hayashi has been instrumental in my career as an academic surgeon.  He is a talented surgeon, investigator, and teacher, who has positively impacted so many within our profession.  His words of wisdom still resonate with me and he was the driving force for me to pursue a career in academics.  I would not be where I am today without his continued support and mentorship.  Words can not express how thankful I am for all he has done for me.  I am honored to call Dr. Hayashi a mentor and friend.
