It is truly an honor to receive this recognition from some wonderful surgeons and people. It is most gratifying to play some small part in the growth of some remarkable individuals. Thank you, I am tremendously humbled.

Dr. Joe Hauptman has been instrumental in developing my career as an academic surgeon. His unwavering support and confidence in my abilities has been incredible. His mentorship has been inspirational as well. I will now model my mentoring of others on his positive ideals. There are many of us who have come under Joe’s tutelage and guidance, and we are all much better people for this. Thank you, Dr. Hauptman.
