Aside from being a gifted surgeon, Dr. Doran was instrumental in my early development as a surgeon in so many ways. He taught me to do my best every time and not to settle for mediocrity. His ‘go big or stay home’ saying still resonates in my daily professional life. But probably the most important aspect of his mentorship, in addition to his friendship and trust, was how to relate to clients and the importance of earning their trust.
