ACVS Diplomates were surveyed to evaluate the knowledge and skills\u00a0required\u00a0to perform the job of a board-certified veterinary surgeon. The survey data served as the foundation for the\u00a0examination\u00a0blueprints.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559685&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The changes to the blueprints reflect clearer terminology and changes in the industry over the past nine years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">For small\u00a0animal, many of the blueprint categories\u00a0remain\u00a0unchanged; six new categories were added, seven were renamed, and two were recategorized. Additionally, two categories were split into two and three new categories. No existing categories were removed.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559685&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">For large\u00a0animal, many of the categories\u00a0remain\u00a0unchanged, although fewer than small\u00a0animal; seven new categories were added, eight were renamed, and two were recategorized.
