Getting Around
By Bus
Seattle's King County Metro Transit, Community Transit, Sound Transit and Greyhound Bus Lines run frequently throughout Seattle and its outlying areas. Please refer to the various transit company websites for route schedules or to purchase tickets.
By City Rail System Amtrak trains arrive and depart at historic King Street Station (303 S Jackson St.), providing service to Vancouver, B.C., Tacoma, Portland, Spokane and other destinations. King Street Station is located between the International District and Pioneer Square, just north of Qwest Field. Tickets may be purchased online or at the station. Greyhound Bus tickets are also sold at the station.
By Foot A destination landmark in itself, Seattle is a city where walking is the preferred mode of transportation and is best explored at a leisurely stroll. Take a trip around the world in just a few short blocks.
Saunter down to historic Pioneer Square, where you can walk down the stairway past restaurants and shops to the Seattle Waterfront and catch a ferry to Blake Island for a traditional native dinner and show. Walk back through Waterfront Park with its many unique art forms while enjoying the picturesque view of the Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains.
Stroll through the city to the downtown business and shopping district where you can catch the Monorail to the Seattle Center, site of the 1962 World’s Fair. Or take a bus ride just outside our doors to the various eclectic neighborhoods, the zoo, or to catch a sports game at one of two famous stadiums and the famous Ste. Michelle Winery. Even better, you can walk to the central train station and further your adventure with a trip to the Cascade Mountains.
