Dr. Allen-Hoffman's lecture was titled: New Frontiers in Regenerative Medicine: Use of Genetically Engineered Progenitor Cells for Tissue Regeneration
|
The Mark W. Allam Lecture, presented at the Symposium, fosters the concept of “one medicine.” It is named for the Dean Emeritus of the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, Mark Whittier Allam.

Dr. William Lumb presenting the ACVS Founder's Award for Carreer Achievement to Dr. Fred Sattler.

Dr. Fred Sattler is recognized in veterinary and human surgery for his pioneering work in electronic monitoring of respiration and circulation in surgical patients. Among his most notable accomplishments were development of pig heart valves for replacement of human heart valves and creation of porcine epidermal dressing for the treatment of severe burns in humans.
Dr. Sattler is one of the five ACVS Charter Diplomates, was the sixth elected member of the ACVS Board of Regents (1968-1971) and was President and Chairman of the Board in 1974 and 1975. In 1989, he received the ACVS Distinguished Service Award.

For decades, Dr. Raker was considered the expert on most upper respiratory surgical techniques applied to the horse. His wisdom about such treatments and his vast case experiences from New Bolton Center gave him unsurpassed credibility. Dr. Reaker authored or coauthored numerous papers in refereed journals and unselfishly mentored and encouraged others to present these new ideas.
Dr. Raker is one of five ACVS Charter Diplomates. He served on the ACVS Board of Regents from 1970 to 1973 and was President and Chairman of the Board in 1975 and 1976.
