Assistant/Associate Professor of Small Animal Soft Tissue Surgery

The Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences, University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor in Small Animal Surgery to be part of an energetic and highly respected small animal surgery team. This is a tenure accruing position for an individual who enjoys clinical service, research and teaching. The candidate will be expected to participate in professional lecture and laboratory courses as well as help mentor Residents and Graduate students in our combined 4 year residency program. Diplomate status in the ACVS will be given top priority however; individuals who have completed an ACVS certified surgical residency will be given consideration.

Teaching responsibilities will include didactic and clinical training of professional students, graduate students & residents in the UF Small Animal Hospital. This facility offers advanced equipment such as digital radiography, CT, and MRI minimally invasive laparoscopic and thorascopic surgery, harmonic scalpel and CO 2 laser, and renal transplantation. The working environment is supportive and cordial. The program will move into our new 104,000 sq ft hospital in November 2010 with state of the art surgical and support facilities. Gainesville is a dynamic and versatile University community with an excellent school system and a multitude of nearby recreational opportunities. It consistently ranks as one of the best mid sized cities in America by Money magazine.
