Call for Committee Members and Volunteers

Deadline for Volunteering: August 15, 2010

Please complete this form if you are interested in volunteering for either of these two service opportunities.

Journal Advisory Board

The ACVS Board of Regents has agreed to establish a Journal Advisory Board to replace the Publications Committee.  The purpose of the Journal Advisory Board is to guide the editorial staff and help formulate the long-term vision for Veterinary Surgery to ensure that the journal meets the needs of the membership and the profession.  We are looking for Diplomates with an awareness of current trends in journal publishing and an interest in strengthening and shaping journal policies to adapt to current and future changes. Diplomates with prior experience on similar boards are encouraged to submit an expression of interest by completing the form below.

Ad Hoc Information Technology Committee

Do you enjoy new technology? Do you use a lot of technology? Would you like to see more membership services from ACVS using technology, networking, etc.? Then you need to volunteer!  As a member of the ITC, you will be asked to make suggestions, evaluate ideas and make proposals to the ACVS regarding ways to increase communication and create new dynamic ways of helping the College flourish in the 21st century. The ITC is charged with developing and promoting information technology resources to the advantage of ACVS and its membership. These are exciting times with rapid expansion of methods of communication, education, information exchange and interaction. Don't you want to be a part of it? Volunteer today for the ITC by completing the form below!

The time commitment varies — working independently, participating in occasional teleconferences and potential meetings at the ACVS Symposium. You are encouraged to contact the appropriate member (indicated below) to learn more about the work of these positions. Additionally, protocols with more detailed information can be obtained from the ACVS office. The Board of Regents encourages you to consider carefully your ability to fulfill the responsibilities of the positions for which you may volunteer.

Selections for these two opportunities will be made by the Board of Regents.  Terms begin in October.   If you have a special interest and expertise that would be valuable summarize your relevant experience in the area below — please do not submit a C.V. Volunteer information must be received by August 15.
