ACVS Has a Permanent Home

The New Home of ACVS
The New ACVS Office at
19785 Crystal Rock Drive, Suite 305, Germantown, MD 20874

The ACVS Foundation and the ACVS staff are finally settled into the new office suite in Germantown, MD.  It’s been both an exacting and exciting experience for everyone involved … and it was well worth the effort!

The Board of Trustees would like to offer to you the opportunity to leave your legacy in this new space, with naming opportunities of the offices. By naming one of the offices you can recognize, honor or memorialize an individual, a group, your practice or your family in ACVS’ permanent home, while providing financial support for the build-out and furnishings of the office. This landmark event allows you to demonstrate a lasting commitment to the work of the ACVS and its Foundation.

To date, more than $50,000 in donations and pledges have been received to name the offices and Past Presidents’ Conference Room.  There are still three remaining offices to be named to honor someone who made an impact to your career or to highlight your dedication to the ACVS.  Some of the offices have been named in honor or in tribute of mentors and friends.  Donations for ACVS office naming opportunities can be made online.  The following are the remaining offices to be named at $5,000 each as well as the other naming opportunities available:

Communications Office: Effective public, professional and internal communication is critical to ACVS’ recognition as the leader in veterinary surgery. Our Marketing Manager, Sue Nocitra, is committed to increasing awareness of the ACVS. In this office Sue continues her work with press coverage of ACVS, animal owner health condition information, the ACVS Newsletter, and Symposium sponsorship and exhibit hall sales.

Industry Relations Office: This is the office of Nicole Blossé, ACVS’ Director of Industry Relations. The Director of Industry Relations identifies, secures and maintains corporate relationships, development opportunities and funding activities that support the College’s mission and programs. This outreach effort will help the ACVS to strengthen and pursue new programs to meet the diverse needs of our Diplomates.

Technology Office: ACVS’ website has developed into a significant resource center for Diplomates. Jeff Melia, our Website Coordinator, maintains all of the website content and works with outside consultants to implement technology advancements. ACVS is nearing completion on discussion forums for Diplomates and will embark on identifying updated internal software to better integrate the varying membership services.

The Al and Carolyn Schiller Volunteer Services Office:  The ACVS and its Foundation would like to honor the memory of Al and Carolyn Schiller by naming the Volunteer Services Office in its new ACVS suite.  Diplomate volunteers are essential to ACVS’ development and success, and the Schillers’ dedicated themselves to supporting the ACVS from its infancy.  The Al and Carolyn Schiller Volunteer Services Office would be a fitting and long lasting tribute to these two devoted individuals who tirelessly provided extraordinary service to the College.  As many of you may know, one of ACVS’ most prestigious awards is the Al and Carolyn Schiller Distinguished Service Award.

Donor Recognition Wall: Because there are limited opportunities available in the office, the Board of Trustees have created a donor recognition wall that will be prominently displayed in the office for any individual who gives $500 or more to the new office. Your gift will be recognized with your name on a plaque displayed in the reception area of our suite.

Past Presidents' Conference Room: In addition to these naming opportunities, the ACVS Foundation has decided to name the conference area "The Past Presidents' Conference Room" to pay tribute to those persons who have helped lead ACVS in being the recognized leader in veterinary surgery to all constituencies. The ACVS Foundation is seeking support of this $100,000 naming opportunity. Perhaps a past president mentored or guided your career, allowing you to excel in veterinary surgery. If so, take this occasion to show your appreciation with a tribute donation. If the past president that made the difference in your life has passed away; consider making a gift in memory of this special person.  View more information on the Past Presidents' Conference Room sponsorship opportunity.

As always, through its support of the College, the Foundation remains committed to advancing the art and science of surgery and promoting excellence in animal health care through research, education and service to the public. We thank you for your support.
